Donald L. George, Sr. was born March 17, 1933 in Iowa City. He was the son of Lee A. George and Bernice P. (Suiter) George. Don married Iva Lou Haney on February 19, 1955 in Waterloo. She died on May 23, 1987. Don married Lorraine Finn on March 27, 1993.
Don was most recently employed as a Courier with the Cedar Valley Medical Specialists for 15 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. He was a member of the Evansdale Amvets, the Eagles Club and the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, Don Jr. (Mary) of Waterloo, Andrew (Evelyn) of Newton, Tim of Waterloo and 1 daughter, Kathy (Scott) McRoberts of Waterloo. A step-son, Jim (Vicki) Finn of Waterloo, a step-daugter, Colleen Deitrick of Waterloo; 9 grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) Kuehl, Tammy (James) Santee, Allyson, Adam, Nicole, Cassandra and Courtney George, Shane Aschbrenner and Kayla (Jordan) Quint. 1 great-grandson, Joshua Kuehl, 5 step-grandchildren, Kim (Dan) Hibben, Kris (Doug) Aschbrenner, Mark (Ann) Card, Jason (Amy) Card and Laura (Ryan) Zook, 9 step great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Michael and Joey Card, Justin, Luke and Corey Finn, Shawn and Danielle Hoffman and Haley Zook.
Don was proceeded in death by his parents, a sister Esther Carpenter and 3 brothers; Robert, Bill and Leon George.
